ASI Aquarium Silicone Sealant has been specifically formulated for the fabrication of fresh and salt-water aquariums. This high modulus component RTV Silicone Sealant forms strong cohesive bonds to glass without the need of primers. The bonds are unaffected by continuous immersion in water and, when fully cured, is non-toxic to fish.
ASI Aquarium Silicone Sealant is a non-slump sealant and can be applied to vertical surfaces without flowing or sagging. Because Aquarium is a 100% silicone sealant, it has excellent resistance to weathering including ozone, ultra-violet radiation, freeze-thaw conditions and airborne chemicals.
ASI Aquarium Silicone Sealant can be applied to surface temperatures from -18°C to +50°C (0°F to +120°F) and after curing, withstands constant operating temperatures from -57°C to +233°C (-70° F to 450°F).
Fully cured, ASI 502 AQ has excellent adhesion to glass, metal, porcelain, ceramic, stone, wood, most plastics and many other nonporous substrates. Generally it can also be used in food service installations, walk-in refrigerators, general sealing and waterproofing, and similar.
TYPICAL USES:
- Aquarium construction, both Salt Water and Fresh Water.
- Fish Ponds.
- Fountains (not postable water tested or certified).
- Bonds directly to properly cleaned glass and aquarium frames without primer.
- Withstands constant immersion.
- Vertical or Horizontal.
- UV and Color stable.
- Allow sealant to cure 7 - 10 days before adding water and fish.
SURFACE PREPARATION
All surfaces should be dry and clean. 100% IPA (isopropyl alcohol) or acetone can be used to clean the surface depending on the substrate.
DO NOT USE petroleum based solvents. Priming for ASI Aquarium
Sealant is not normally required. Unprimed adhesion can be easily tested by applying a
small trial bead and allowing 7 days for maximum adhesion to occur.
DIRECTIONS
ASI Aquarium Sealant is ready to use and requires no mixing or
additives. Tooling, if necessary, should be done before skinning takes
place. In applications where partial or total confinement of sealant is
prevalent, the time required for proper cure is generally lengthened by
the degree of confinement. Higher temperature and higher humidity will
accelerate skin & cure time. Cold temperatures and low humidity will
slow down skin & cure time.
CLEAN UP
Wet adhesive can be cleaned with ASI 0240 Adhesive Remover &
Cleaner. Dry sealant can be removed by abrading or scraping.

- All of our PVC reptile enclosures are shipped unassembled to minimize shipping costs and prevent damage in transit. We build and disassemble each individual reptile enclosure to ensure a perfect fit. Assembly is very easy and takes about 15 minutes and requires only a Phillips screwdriver, but I would recommend a drill to speed things up.
